Weather Cartoon: Clouds

A few months ago I was hired by Spider Magazine to do a full-page comic based on the theme “weather”. This is one of several ideas I submitted. It’s not the one they chose but I liked it enough to finish it up anyway.

My Latest Cartoon Reached “Most Viral”!

In between client projects I do a webcomic called Sketchbook Silliness. My most recent cartoon (“Mohawk”) was posted on various social media yesterday. I was floored to see that it is zoomed up the charts on both Imgur and Reddit, reaching “Most Viral” on Imgur. After about 24 hours the cartoon finally leveled off at over 93,000 views/1,600 likes on Imgurand 189,000 views/18,600 likes on the Reddit’s “Comics” subreddit. If I add in the totals from other subreddits and misc. social media, it got over 300,000 total views!

I’m blown away and I just wanted to share the good news. I also want to say a HUGE thank you to all of my Patreon backers for giving me some support as I hone my skills! It’s really encouraging to see that sometimes the effort and support are coming together to make something people like.

If you like the cartoon, feel free to help share it further by following me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and/or Tumblr.

NEW! Print of one of my most popular webcomics

“The Great Exchange” is one of my most popular and widely shared webcomics. Several people have asked for prints so I decided to pull the trigger and get some made. I just picked them up from the printer and I’m very happy with how they turned out!

I’ll be selling them this weekend at MSP Comicon in St. Paul, MN. If you’re in the area stop on by and say “Hi!”. If you can’t make it, the prints are also available in my store.

Actual size: 8″w x 19″h (20cm x 48cm). Printed on 80lb stock. Matte finish with just a hint of gloss. Shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube.

If you’d like to frame it, I recommend this frame on Amazon.

I’ll Be At MSP Comicon 2018

Once again I’ll have a table at Minnesota’s great comic book fest, MSP Comicon. This year’s event will be in the grandstand at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, May 19-20, 2018 (10am-6pm Sat., 10am-5pm Sun.). It’s a fantastic show packed with artists, publishers and fans who love all things comics, and the people who put it on are top-notch. Minnesota nice at its finest!

I’ll be selling prints of my cartoons as well as copies of my new book Mostly Nonsense, which was successfully funded on Kickstarter and selected by the Kickstarter team as one of their “Projects We Love”. Stop on by and say “Hi!”

Good Friday

Today is Good Friday, the day we remember Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. It was a bad day for Him but a very good day for us!

In between client projects I do cartoons that I post as a webcomic called Sketchbook Silliness. Most are just dumb jokes but every once in a while I’ll try to draw something thoughtful, often relating to my Christian faith. Some of them wind up being my most popular and widely-shared cartoons. So, in honor of Good Friday/Easter I thought I’d share three of them.

Happy Easter!
