Free Download: Inktober Sketchbook Ideas

inktober

It’s that time of year again. The leaves are turning color, the air is getting chilly, and artists everywhere are getting ready for Inktober! If you need some Inktober drawing ideas, I’m once again offering a free PDF download of 31 drawing prompts based on the Pose Drawing Sparkbook. About 2/3 of the list is directly from the book, the rest are new (as of last year anyway). As with everything in the book they are specifically designed to help you practice making your drawings more expressive and entertaining:

Unfortunately physical copies of the Pose Drawing Sparkbook are sold out but the PDF/ebook version is still available in my studio store. It’s cheaper, easy to carry around, and works as a companion to any normal sketchbook. NOTE: I still get requests for physical copies so I’m thinking of doing a second printing if there’s enough interest. If that’s something you’d like to see, please shoot me an email and let me know.

In the mean time, enjoy this free download and please share it with others. Just post this link on your favorite social media: http://bit.ly/1tnlfqY

Happy drawing!

Last Chance To Order “Pose Drawing Sparkbook”

Sparkbook-Banner-Photo-NearlyGone
The Pose Drawing Sparkbook is almost out of print! After a successful Kickstarter campaign hundreds of copies were printed and now I’m down to my final box of books. If you still want a copy you can place an order on my online store: https://cedricstudio.com/store

If you are wondering if more copies will be printed, I’m afraid that, for now at least, the answer is no. Although the Sparkbook has been very well-received, like any other book sales have gradually slowed to a trickle, and most of the orders I now get are for the digital ebook version (which will still be available in my website store). Also, the economics of book publishing are such that to do another print run I’d have to order hundreds of additional copies. At the current rate it would take at least a couple of years before I’d sell enough to earn back my printing costs, if ever. Since most people seem to prefer the ebook anyway, for now that will be the only option once these are gone.

So, if you want to own a physical copy of the Pose Drawing Sparkbook grab one while you can.

The Pose Drawing Sparkbook Is Now Available In The iBooks Store!

SparkbookBasic-iBooksStore

The Pose Drawing Sparkbook is a workbook of sorts I designed to help artists put more life into their drawings, and it’s finally made it to the iBooks store. Well, the Basic version is there. I’m still waiting for the Expanded version to be approved by Apple, hopefully very soon. (The Expanded version includes 200 bonus sketchbook ideas in the back of the book that are not included in the physical book or the basic ebook).

I currently sell the ebook in my own store in three formats: PDF, Kindle, and Nook/ePub (the PDF version is by far the most popular). Unfortunately Apple’s policies prohibit me from selling the iBooks version anywhere except in their store, so if you want that format you have to get it through them.

If you’d rather have a physical copy of the Sparkbook it’s available either on my website or from Amazon.

It’s finally here! The official book launch for the Pose Drawing Sparkbook kicks off today at the CTN Animation Expo in Burbank. My wife Jennie will be joining me at table XB06, which will be out in the tent. Here’s my location on the floor plan (click to enlarge):

If you’ve already pre-ordered the ebook, by now you should have received a download link via email. As for the physical book, you can pick up your copy from my table at the Expo. Otherwise, as soon as I get back from the Expo we’ll start mailing out orders.

If you are new to the party, you can learn about the Sparkbook, read excerpts, and order a copy through my studio store,

New! Sparkbook Gallery on Facebook

I’ve also created a gallery on Facebook where anyone can upload the drawings they are making from the Sparkbook prompts. No purchase necessary – you can get started with my free download of 100 sketchbook ideas taken from the bonus section in the back of the book.

Happy sketching!
