I began freelancing while still in college and have been self-employed ever since. I've worked on hundreds of client projects both as an artist and as a project manager supervising other freelance artists. I'm also a conference speaker, I've written industry articles, and my work has been featured in Stay Tooned! magazine and on the Character Design Blog.

I've designed toys for Disney and Hasbro, created advertising comps for Walmart and Best Buy, supervised animation of Mr. Potato Head, and designed characters for the animated TV series "3-2-1 Penguins!" on NBC.

In 2006 I illustrated a cartoon Gospel tract as a personal project. To date over 3.5 million copies have been printed and the tract has been translated into over a dozen languages.

I'm a life-long Minnesotan and currently live in a Minneapolis suburb with my wife and two daughters.
