"All children draw. I just never stopped."
—Al Hirschfeld

Cedric Hohnstadt grew up in southern Minnesota and illustrated his first children's book at the age of six using construction paper and crayons. He was hooked.

In high school Cedric read a lot of comic books and studied under the world's greatest art teacher, Mr. Jeff Pridie. He majored in illustration at Minnesota State University Moorhead, where he was also involved in a campus Christian organization, took up running, and became an avid reader.

Cedric began freelancing for American Crystal Sugar while still in college, and since then he has created illustration and character design for a long list of clients all across the nation. To date Cedric has worked on over 250 client projects.

In 2000 he attended a workshop at the Disney Institute where he caught the animation bug, and he has been an animation junkie ever since. In 2007 Cedric worked as a freelance character designer on twelve episodes of 3-2-1 Penguins!, an animated series on NBC.

In 2006 Cedric created a comic strip gospel tract for Living Waters Publications. To date almost two million copies have been printed and the tract has been translated into five different languages.

Cedric lives in Bloomington MN, a Minneapolis suburb, with his lovely wife Jennie. They have one daughter.
